Over 23 years ago Lama Ole, Hannah, Pedro and Dorritt Gomez had a vision to create a Flagship Diamond Way centre in Southern Spain. With the help of thousands of friends worldwide Karma Guen is now where the highest levels of view, meditation, and action in Diamond Way Buddhism come together. Once a Ruin, the old town of Aldea Alta is now a place which holds the magical Kalacharka stupa to protect our work and blessings, and is apillar of activity for the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa and Lama Ole in Europe. It is where thousands of students from around the world come to receive teachings in the magnificent Thaya Dorje Gompa from the highest lamas in our Lineage and where all DW students can come for long retreats in the unique retreat caves. It is where the brightest students come to ITAS to learn the Tibetan language and translate our precious teachings to protect the Karma Kagyu Lineage in the west.
But Lama Ole's and Karmapa's Vision continues
Over the last 23 years thousands of people have contributed to make Karma Guen what it is today However, there is an even grander vision to be realized over the next 23 years and beyond. Just some of the projects in the works include the creation of a fully accredited Karma Kagyu University, brand new dormitories and retreat caves, and a Kagyu Cemetary. Up to now the financial support for Karma Guen has come from a few generous friends and the Gomez family, but continue to realize the full vision of Karma Guen we need to broaden our support and increase our number of friends. Because
We Create our Karma.... Guen.
