Thaye Dorje Gompa
The Karma Kagyu lineage of Diamond Way Buddhism is now firmly rooted in the West with nearly 500 centers in different localities. This has been possible due to the inexhaustible efforts of our teachers and the idealism of hundreds of students who have given their best.
Our goal now is the growth of Buddhism in the West. To fulfill this goal, we have provided space for a growing number of people interested in Buddhist knowledge and practice in the form of the new Trinley Thaye Dorje Gompa. This fantastic new building is a meeting place for the thousands of students of the lineage, and for everyone wanting to learn from the precious treasures of the Karma Kagyu tradition.
The Thaye Dorje Gompa is so named to honour His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa. This gompa, with the capacity for 2,000 people, together with its library, is part of a larger cultural project to consolidate the Buddhist teachings in the Western world. Since the Karmapa will carry out much of his activity in the West, we have donated this project to him. From Karma Guen he will support his students and humanity as a whole.
